About Facet Furniture
Facet Furniture operates from Birmingham, Alabama, where it was established in 2018 by Michael Morrow and the team at MDM Design Studio. The company began with a focus on hand-built, made-to-order furniture inspired by Italian design principles. The workshop produces a range of custom pieces including dining tables, credenzas, hutches, beds, mirrors, and occasional tables. Materials span domestic hardwoods such as white oak, walnut, and reclaimed oak, as well as marble, quartzite, forged brass, bronze, shagreen, glass, iron, concrete, and leather. The company does not produce for showroom inventory; instead, it works directly with customers through a consultation process to create pieces for homes and other living environments. The founder emphasizes that every joint, finish, and surface represents an opportunity for excellence, differentiating the brand through a commitment to artisanal construction and Italian-inspired aesthetics rather than mass production.
