About Farmhouse Style Furniture - Custom Furniture & Kitchen Cabinets | White Bear Lake
Farmhouse Style Furniture operates from White Bear Township, Minnesota. The business traces its start to 2012 when founder James Putnam built a dining table for a friend, sparking demand for his custom woodworking. The shop produces custom furniture and cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms, mudrooms, and living rooms. Every piece is handcrafted from solid wood — oak, cherry, maple, or walnut — using traditional joinery such as dovetail, mortise-and-tenon, and tongue-and-groove joints. The workflow follows a four-step collaboration: design consultation, detailed planning, precision handcrafting, and final installation. A showroom on site lets clients review materials and finishes before production begins. The customer base is residential homeowners seeking made-to-fit pieces. Recent projects cited in reviews include a sewing cabinet, a bathroom vanity, a mudroom hall tree, a pandemic-era homeschooling table and benches that became a permanent dining set, dining chairs delivered ahead of schedule, a hall-tree entry piece, a dining table with bar stools, and bedroom suites with beds, dressers, and hallway storage. The company states its mission is to redefine affordable furniture by offering timeless, one-of-a-kind pieces built to last. Putnam emphasizes that the business exists to meet a community need for high-quality, accessible craftsmanship, turning each client's vision into a durable, personalized product.
