About Grand Rapids Chair Company
Grand Rapids Chair Company operates from Byron Center, Michigan, where it was founded in 1991 as Manufacturer's Resource by Dave and Jill Miller. The company was renamed Grand Rapids Chair Company, and Geoff assumed leadership in 2012, growing the team to nearly 150 employees. The company manufactures commercial-grade furniture in its West Michigan factory, working with solid hardwoods, steel, aluminum, and high-performance textiles. Its product line spans chairs, stools, benches, lounge seating, and a range of tables including communal, pedestal, occasional, and T-base models, plus outdoor collections. Finishing capabilities include over 150 powder-coat colors for metal components and a virtually unlimited selection of fabrics, all produced locally to keep lead times short and customization affordable. Grand Rapids Chair serves the restaurant, office, hospitality, and higher-education markets, supplying design partners and specifiers who furnish gathering spaces such as cafes, hubs, and campus lounges. The portfolio emphasizes versatile, accessible products that can be tailored to specific project palettes. A family mindset drives the business: the Millers keep manufacturing in Michigan to ensure quality control, fast delivery, and the ability to fulfill one-of-a-kind orders quickly. An warranty backs every piece, and the company maintains community ties, including a partnership with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation that inspired the Brooke chair.
