About Jason Lewis Furniture
Jason Lewis Furniture was founded in 2001 in Chicago, Illinois, by Jason Lewis. Lewis grew up in a Midwestern family of engineers and builders and began woodworking as a child. He apprenticed with a local woodworker before establishing his own studio. The company operates from a showroom and studio in the Logan Square neighborhood. The studio functions as a production woodworking and design shop, specializing in contemporary, finely made wood furniture and objects. It handles custom woodworking and fabrication, taking on custom projects while also producing an ongoing line of original furniture. The work draws on traditional fine woodworking techniques and midcentury design influences. No specific facility size, headcount, or volume figures are disclosed. The business works directly with clients seeking heirloom-quality modern furniture and woodworking of all kinds. Lewis started the studio to combine the traditional fine woodworking craft he learned as an apprentice with the simple midcentury design that first inspired him. The company emphasizes direct client collaboration and the creation of heirloom-quality pieces.
