About Jay's MetalCrafting
Jay's MetalCrafting operates from New Albany, Ohio, in the Columbus metropolitan area. The company was founded in 1991 by Jay, a skilled welder who built a reputation for precision metalwork. In 2021, Jay's son Jason assumed ownership and has run the business since then alongside Eric, a childhood friend and co-fabricator. The shop remains a small, family-connected business rooted in the Buckeye State. The shop specializes in custom metal fabrication, welding, and artistic metalwork. Its capabilities span custom handrails, gates, structural supports, and one-of-a-kind metal artwork for both residential and commercial clients. Projects range from simple metal repairs to large-scale commercial fabrications and public art installations. The team works with materials such as aluminum and iron, though the full material palette is not publicly detailed. Jay's MetalCrafting serves homeowners, businesses, contractors, and public institutions across central Ohio. Its portfolio includes residential stair railings, community gate repairs, structural beams for commercial buildings, and pieces displayed at the Columbus Arts Festival's Emerging Artist program. The company has also contributed to historic building restorations and public art installations that have become signature features in Columbus neighborhoods. The company emphasizes hard work, attention to detail, and a dedication to customer satisfaction as the foundation of its reputation. Jason and Eric describe their approach as putting passion into every weld and cut, aiming to transform spaces, enhance safety, and create lasting impressions. This philosophy, carried forward from the founder, is cited as the reason the business has remained a name for over three decades.
