About Montana Fine Furniture
Montana Fine Furniture was established in 1993 in Belgrade, Montana. The owner’s personal narrative references a historic 1868 log barn on the property, underscoring a connection to traditional building methods, but the company’s own origin story is not detailed. The company produces custom-designed furniture pieces, including dining tables, coffee tables, bedroom sets, headboards, and chairs. Production relies on fine joinery techniques such as dovetailing, careful selection of hardwoods, and handcrafted assembly. Materials featured in recent work include mahogany, curly maple, walnut, cherry, and reclaimed lumber, with occasional leather upholstery. No facility size, headcount, or annual volume figures are disclosed. The client base consists primarily of individual customers seeking one-of-a-kind residential furnishings. Portfolio examples cited on the website include the Torii Coffee Table in mahogany and curly maple, a Figured Walnut Dining Set, a Leather Upholstered Headboard with matching nightstands, a Custom Bedroom Set in mahogany and walnut, a Big Sky Hall Table, a Mahogany Office Chair, and a Farmhouse Table built from reclaimed wood. No commercial or institutional sectors are explicitly mentioned. The owner articulates a philosophy centered on preserving generational craftsmanship traditions, contrasting hand-built pieces with mass-produced disposable goods. The stated goal is to create objects that last for generations, improving each design for comfort, strength, visual appeal, and tactile quality. This commitment to heirloom durability is presented as the core differentiator.
