About North Idaho Log Furniture Co
Based in Dalton Gardens, Idaho, with a showroom in nearby Coeur d'Alene, North Idaho Log Furniture Company was founded in 1996 by Dan and Kelli Booterbaugh. The couple started the business as a small mountain workshop driven by a shared passion for woodworking and the outdoors. The company handcrafts solid-wood log furniture for every room: beds, bunk beds, tables, chairs, dressers, cabinets, desks, nightstands, couches, mantels, and lamps. Using Lodgepole Pine, Ponderosa Pine, and Hickory harvested from North Idaho forests, each log is hand-selected, hand-peeled, sanded, and joined with traditional mortise-and-tenon construction. Finishes are eco-conscious stains and protective oils. The shop builds custom pieces to order and constructs custom pallets for each shipment, calculating freight individually rather than using a cart-based checkout. The company serves homeowners, cabin builders, and interior designers across the United States. Customers range from individuals furnishing mountain cabins and lakeside retreats to design professionals specifying rustic pieces for residential projects. The founders emphasize three principles: quality, integrity, and authenticity. They position their work as a continuation of Idaho craftsmanship, highlighting hand-built joinery, responsible sourcing, and a made-to-order model that avoids mass production. The goal is furniture that "lives with you" for generations.
