About Northeast Millwork Corporation
Northeast Millwork Corporation operates from an 11,200-square-foot shop in Tiverton, Rhode Island. The company was founded in 1993 by Peter Corr, who had spent four decades in custom home building starting in 1969. Corr’s experience included constructing over 30 new homes, completing more than 100 renovations, and restoring six National Register properties. His work with antique wood began in 1981 through a partnership with Oliver Durfee’s Sawmill, where he specialized in sawing antique longleaf southern pine and reclaimed timber for post-and-beam homes. The shop houses a 1949 Lane sawmill capable of cutting beams over 40 feet long and 36 inches wide, supplemented by a WoodMizer sawmill for beams up to 20 feet. Northeast Millwork produces antique heart pine flooring in vertical grain, plainsawn, and cabin grades, as well as antique American chestnut flooring. The company also fabricates antique longleaf pine and American chestnut post-and-beam frames, and salvages materials from 1700s-era textile mills and houses, including granite, bluestone, brick, barn board, and original antique flooring. A current project involves restoring a 1985 Shannon 51-foot ketch. Commercial clients have included bars, restaurants, and metal building projects. The marine restoration portfolio covers historic J‑Boats such as Endeavor, Shamrock, Corrinett, and Cotton Blossom, along with Shannon yachts. Historic preservation work extends to six National Register homes.
