About Olson Solar Energy
Olson Solar Energy operates from Onalaska, Wisconsin, with additional bases in La Crosse, Eau Claire, and Wausau, serving customers across Wisconsin, eastern Minnesota, and northern Iowa. The company was founded by twin brothers Cameron and Brandon Olson after they reunited in Wisconsin following years living in Washington state and North Carolina. Within months of their reunion, the pair launched the business as co‑owners, with Cameron serving as CEO and Brandon as COO. The venture grew from Brandon’s interest in solar energy sparked while living in the Pacific Northwest and Cameron’s background managing multi‑million‑dollar warehouses. The firm specializes in designing and installing photovoltaic systems for residential and commercial clients. Its portfolio includes grid‑tied, hybrid, and off‑grid configurations, mounted on roofs or ground arrays. Project examples range from a 4‑kilowatt roof mount in La Crosse to a 21‑kilowatt roof mount in the same city, with installations documented from late 2019 through 2020. A commercial solar specialist and a design supervisor with a Building Science and Energy Management degree support the technical side, while two sales managers cover territories in Minnesota, Iowa, and southern and northeastern Wisconsin. Customers are primarily homeowners and businesses seeking to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints. Installations have been completed in communities such as Onalaska, La Crosse, Mindoro, Viroqua, Green Bay, and Eau Claire. The company also works with referral partners and offers financing options to lower upfront barriers. The founders emphasize a commitment to fast turnaround — aiming to complete every project in the shortest timeline possible — and a consultative approach that begins with a no‑cost evaluation using only an address and an energy bill. A referral program rewards existing customers, and the leadership cites a blend of work ethic, customer service, and passion for renewable energy as the foundation of their operation.
