About Pioneer Automotive Industries LLC
Pioneer Automotive Industries was founded in 1946 by Herman A. Shields in Meridian, Mississippi. The company began as a manufacturer of engine and transmission components. Over the decades it changed hands several times: acquired by The Barnes Group in 1979, then by UIS Inc. in 1993, then by United Components (part of The Carlyle Group) in 2003, then ownership transitioned to Doron Arad in 2006, and later joined The Lodi Group in 2009–2010. In 2017 it acquired ATP Automotive and expanded its Meridian facility to 300,000 square feet in 2018. Today Pioneer operates a 300,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution facility in Meridian, producing over 15,000 SKUs of powertrain and transmission components. Its product lines include flexplates, flywheels, automatic and manual transmission shift cables, clutch cables, speedometer cables, engine mounts, harmonic balancers, and a range of high‑performance parts. The company designs, manufactures, and distributes these components for the automotive aftermarket. Pioneer serves customers and distributors throughout the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
