About Prysmian North America
Prysmian North America is headquartered in Lexington, South Carolina, and operates as the North American arm of the global Prysmian Group. The company maintains more than 50 facilities across the United States and employs approximately 9,000 people. The company manufactures wire, cable, and fiber‑optic products for transmission, power‑grid, digital‑solutions, and electrification markets. Its portfolio includes high‑voltage transmission cables, submarine telecom cables, industrial fiber‑optic cable, and connectivity components for data centers. Recent expansions — a $100 million project in Jackson, TN, an $80 million project in Lexington, SC, and a more than $1 billion project in Claremont, NC — are adding domestic fiber and optical‑cable capacity. The company invests roughly $20 million annually in R&D and reports €9 billion in sales. Prysmian serves utilities, telecom operators, data‑center builders, and industrial customers. Notable projects include supplying ELYSIS® low‑carbon aluminum cables for an Amazon data center and providing network solutions for rural broadband and industrial fiber applications. The “Made Right Here” initiative underscores a focus on U.S.‑based production across its 50‑plus locations. The company says its differentiation comes from a broad, industry‑brand portfolio, the Encore Wire partnership that expands building‑wire and distribution capabilities, and a commitment to low‑carbon materials such as ELYSIS® aluminum. Its scale and domestic footprint are positioned to support the energy transition and growing digital‑infrastructure demand.
