About Pure Power Solar
Pure Power Solar is based in Louisville, Kentucky. Founded in 2017 by Nicholas Hartnett, a Louisville native and University of Kentucky alumnus who returned from a solar sales career in Southern California to start the company. He aimed to create an honest, reputable solar installer in a market he felt was plagued by deceptive tactics. The company designs and installs solar photovoltaic systems and battery storage for residential and commercial customers. All work is performed by an in-house crew without subcontractors, covering design, permitting, grid interconnection, and monitoring setup. They are authorized installers for Tesla, SolarEdge, and EG4 equipment. Pure Power Solar serves homeowners, businesses, nonprofits, churches, and municipal governments in the Louisville area and surrounding Kentucky communities. The company has been selected for multiple Solarize campaigns, including Solarize Louisville (2024, 2025, 2026), Solarize Boyle (2025), and Solarize Frankfort (2023, 2024), reflecting its role in community-driven clean energy programs. Hartnett founded the business to counter what he saw as deceptive sales practices and fly-by-night installers. The company emphasizes full control over every installation step, a no-subcontractor policy, and a commitment to ethical sales without high-pressure tactics. It maintains an A+ Better Business Bureau rating and five-star Google reviews across its project history.
