About Remcon Plastics
Remcon Plastics was founded in November 1982 by Peter and Doren Connors in Pennsylvania. The venture was backed by the savings of both families — Bill and Nancy Remmey (Doren’s parents) and Lorraine Connors (Pete’s mother) — and named Remcon in their honor. The founders bet that a small, family-owned rotational molding company could compete with larger manufacturers by building better products and standing behind them. In 1990, after eight years in Conshohocken, the company moved to Reading, Pennsylvania, tripling its plant size. Today, Remcon operates a 75,000-square-foot facility in Reading with eight rotational molding machines. It produces material handling containers, MASH-compliant water-filled traffic barricades and longitudinal channelizers, and custom OEM rotationally molded components. Automation and advanced production systems enable output levels uncommon in rotational molding, supporting steady production and reliable deliveries. Key engineering innovations include the reinforced beaded 'R' lip that eliminated a common bulk-bin failure point, and a replaceable pallet system that extends container life by separating the wear component from the structural body. Remcon serves traffic safety, material handling, and custom OEM markets. Its traffic safety line includes MASH-compliant water-filled barricades and channelizers built for real-world jobsite performance. Material handling products range from bulk bins and hoppers to the FBP bin with an integrated pallet. The company also provides custom rotational molding for OEM customers; one of its first OEM accounts from the early 1980s remains a customer today. Products are sold through a network of regional representatives across the United States and territories. The company’s differentiation rests on durability, disciplined engineering, and integrity. Founder Pete Connors, an engineer with an MBA, applied stress-crack-resistant polyethylene formulations from DuPont to re-engineer common failure modes, raising industry standards for bin longevity from 12–24 months to over 10 years. Remcon remains family-owned and actively led by the founder, with the next generation — Tracy Connors as Executive Vice President and CEO, and James Connors as Director of Design — bringing outside experience to modernize operations while preserving the original commitment to keeping their word.
