About Restoration & Performance Motorcars

Restoration & Performance Motorcars (RPM) is located in Vergennes, Vermont, in the Champlain Valley. The shop was founded in 1986 by Peter Markowski, who built the original red barn facility after a career in construction, banking, and heavy-truck sales. Markowski’s passion for classic European sports cars began in his teens when he acquired a Ferrari Barchetta and spent two decades restoring it to original condition. The business remained family-owned for nearly four decades until September 2024, when Markowski sold it to four longtime employees—Nate Barcomb, Rolf Humburg, Keith Carnevale, and Jennifer Valz—while staying on as part of the team. RPM specializes in the restoration, maintenance, and sale of classic European sports cars, with a focus on Ferrari and Porsche models. The company serves collectors and owners of classic European sports cars, particularly Ferrari and Porsche. The business was born from Markowski’s personal dedication to preserving automotive history; his early experience restoring the Barchetta taught him the value of originality and the network of parts specialists. RPM emphasizes adherence to factory specifications and originality, a principle that continues under the new employee ownership.
