About Riveted Woodworking & Design
Riveted Woodworking & Design operates from a shop in Bristol, Rhode Island. The business was founded by Althea Tower, who turned a passion for creating into a custom woodworking venture after years of redoing vintage furniture. Althea, who has a background in sewing and fashion design, describes herself as the woman who dared to dream big. In late 2020, her husband Jason officially joined as a partner, making it a family-owned, woman-led small business. The company specializes in custom built-in cabinetry and accent or feature walls for residential and small-business clients. All work—design, material selection, cutting, sanding, assembly, and installation—is performed in-house by the two-person team in their Bristol shop. They work with real wood, including hardwoods and reclaimed lumber, producing one-of-a-kind pieces that showcase the natural imperfections of the material. Riveted serves homeowners and small businesses across southeastern New England. Projects range from mudroom organization systems and home office built-ins to decorative shiplap feature walls that add texture to living spaces. The shop's portfolio includes both residential and light commercial installations. Althea emphasizes a hands-on, end-to-end experience: every piece is touched by her hands from concept to completion, and the firm prides itself on delivering not just a product but a personal customer journey. The business was honored with a Best of Rhode Island award for Custom-Made Signs, reflecting its commitment to craftsmanship and client satisfaction.
