About SAVKAT
SAVKAT was founded in 2017 in Bristol, Connecticut, by Steve Salansky, who named the company after his daughter Savannah Kathryn. The business began as a family-owned venture in West Hartford before expanding to serve greater New England, with a mission to make premium renewable energy systems accessible to homeowners. The company provides complete home energy and protection services, including solar energy system design and installation, GAF-certified roofing, battery backup (FranklinWH, Tesla Powerwall, Enphase), EV charging, and solar panel removal and reinstallation. All work is performed by in-house crews—sales, engineering, permitting, installation, and service—without subcontractors. SAVKAT has completed over 3,500 residential installations and offers a 25-year comprehensive warranty. SAVKAT serves residential homeowners across Connecticut and greater New England, helping them achieve energy independence through solar, storage, and roofing solutions. The company also works with customers seeking battery backup for grid resilience and EV charging integration. Its technology-agnostic approach means it selects equipment from brands such as Enphase, FranklinWH, REC, Qcells, and SolarEdge based on each home's needs. Salansky founded SAVKAT to offer a local alternative to national solar chains that rely on subcontractors and distant call centers. The company emphasizes accountability: one team, one warranty, one phone number, and crews that are direct employees. It also leverages nearby warehousing for faster material delivery and quicker installations.
