About School of Wood Carving, Inc
School of Wood Carving, Inc. operates from Boynton Beach, Florida, as a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit dedicated to preserving traditional woodcarving. The organization was founded by master woodcarver Alexander Grabovetskiy, who began learning the craft from his grandfather at age six. His goal was to ensure the art form would not be lost and that instruction would be accessible regardless of cost or geography. The school delivers professional-quality woodcarving education through an online platform hosting more than 3,000 video lessons. Its curriculum spans beginner fundamentals — tool handling, grain reading, and basic relief carving — through advanced classical European techniques such as Grinling Gibbons-style foliage and Baroque architectural panels. Courses are offered via monthly or annual subscriptions, with free lessons available to all learners. The program serves a global community of carvers at every skill level: absolute beginners, hobbyists seeking to advance, and experienced professionals refining their design vocabulary. Testimonials reference students from Sweden, the United States, and beyond, including furniture makers, university professors, and master carvers who endorse the instruction. The nonprofit structure sets the school apart: course fees and donations directly fund free instruction and craft-preservation work.
