About Sewer Cable Equipment Co
Sewer Cable Equipment Co. was founded in 1959 by Don Catterall and Jack Bollinger in Sunland, California. Don, a plumber by trade, invented the Burton Powersnake, a rugged sewer cable machine that became an industry standard. The company relocated to Las Vegas in 1990 and remained family-owned; after Don's passing in 2013, his daughter Kristie Catterall Allen and grandson Kirk assumed daily operations. In 2024 the business was acquired by Hotsy of Las Vegas and now operates from Henderson, Nevada. The company manufactures American-made sewer cables in-house and provides expert repair services for sewer cable machines, jetters, cameras, and cables across all major brands. It also stocks and sells equipment and parts from Ridgid, Spartan Tool, General Pipe Cleaners, Gorlitz, and Warthog as an authorized dealer. Technicians handle drum service, motor and transmission work, and feed assembly troubleshooting, offering both OEM and aftermarket replacement parts. Sewer Cable Equipment serves plumbing and drain-cleaning professionals throughout the Las Vegas region and as far as St. George, Utah. The shop supports both new equipment purchases and ongoing maintenance for fleets of drain-cleaning machinery. The business was built on the principle of "reliability, trust, and consistency" — values articulated in early company literature as "timeless principles that express stability and strength during times of rapid growth and change." Founded by plumbers for plumbers, it continues to prioritize dependable equipment and responsive support for the trades that keep infrastructure flowing.
