About Sunlight Electric
Sunlight Electric is based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and traces its roots to 2002 when founder Robert Nichols began performing residential and commercial electrical work. After more than two decades as a union journeyman electrician, often traveling out of state for contract jobs, Nichols identified a local gap in green‑energy solutions such as solar installations, energy management systems, and EV charging. He launched the business under the Sunlight Electric name in August 2021 to stay closer to his family and serve the surrounding communities of Rexburg, Blackfoot, Pocatello, and Ashton. The company provides a full range of electrical services for both homes and businesses, including electrical repair and troubleshooting, solar panel installation, lighting retrofits, backup generator installation and service, energy management systems, and electric‑vehicle charger installation. Recent projects cited in reviews include a solar installation for a private residence, an LED retrofit for a commercial facility, and ongoing electrical service for a property management firm. Nichols has said he started the company because he repeatedly heard from people who could not get an electrician to return their calls, and he enjoys tackling difficult troubleshooting jobs that others avoid. Sunlight Electric emphasizes transparent pricing — publishing its hourly rates online — timely communication, and a policy of not invoicing until the work meets its quality standard.
