About Tennessee Chair Company
Tennessee Chair Company was founded in 1979 in Readyville, Tennessee, by Tim and Beth Watts. Tim began selling hardwood porch furniture at events and fairs across the Southeast in 1977, and after over 30 years on the road, the company's primary account became the Tennessee Farmer's Cooperative. The company manufactures handmade hardwood furniture, specializing in rocking chairs for adults and children, as well as dining sets, hutches, and barstools. Its reputation throughout the Southeast has been built around the comfort of its hand-made rocking chairs. Most pieces are built from white ash, with options for black walnut, red oak, wild cherry, poplar, and wormy maple. The Readyville location provides access to native hardwoods ideal for furniture construction. Products are sold through events, fairs, and direct sales. They offer personalization options for each piece, and the founders credit their success to their faith and the free enterprise system.
