About Terrasteel Furniture Design LLC
TerraSteel Furniture Design LLC operates from Bend, Oregon, where it was founded by Kirk Casey. The company is now owned by Justin Penfield, who serves as owner, designer, and fabricator. Penfield, originally from Pennsylvania, moved to Central Oregon in 2012 and joined TerraSteel before taking ownership. The shop produces custom and handcrafted furniture ranging from modern to traditional styles. Using on-site woodworking, welding, and metal fabrication, the team works with steel, non-endangered exotic hardwoods, and reclaimed local timbers. Product lines include live-edge tables, custom knife blocks, wine racks, and the ARTifacts series. TerraSteel serves residential clients, commercial spaces, restaurants, interior designers, and builders. Examples include custom knife blocks for home kitchens, live-edge dining tables for restaurants, and built-in pieces for commercial interiors. The company also collaborates directly with interior designers and builders on project-specific furniture. The company emphasizes the “marriage of design and function,” with attention to detail at every step from concept to reality. Penfield notes that owning TerraSteel allows him to fuse fabrication, woodworking, and creative materials daily. The use of sustainable, non-endangered woods and reclaimed timber reflects a commitment to responsible material sourcing.
