Founded in 2007 by Rick Disharoon, a U.S. Air Force veteran with airframe repair experience, the business began as a one-man operation with his 16-year-old son Ryan, building roll cages, bumpers, lift kits and small custom fabrications for 4x4 vehicles. Today the company operates from a purpose-built facility completed in 2018 and offers a broad range of metalworking services: 3D design and SolidWorks modeling, 3D scanning, CNC laser cutting, CNC plasma tube and plate cutting, CNC routing of plastic and aluminum, MIG/TIG/stick welding, full machine shop capabilities, driveline repair, suspension modifications, high-performance engine building, crank balancing, dyno testing, and Gates-brand hydraulic hose assembly. Its customer base spans commercial, industrial, motorsports and government sectors across the Delmarva Peninsula and nationally. The Metal Shop emphasizes its family-run culture, veteran-founded roots, and continuous reinvestment in advanced equipment as differentiators.
