About The Modern Table Company
The Modern Table Company was founded in 2014 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to create unique, eye-catching furniture pieces for clients seeking one-of-a-kind items to enhance their homes. The company operates from a workshop on North Main Street in the Fox Valley region. The shop produces custom tables and furniture using reclaimed, repurposed, and new wood that is kiln-dried for durability. Materials include domestic species such as oak, ash, hickory, maple, pine, Douglas fir, cypress, and redwood reclaimed from old Wisconsin pickling vats, as well as the rare Australian jarrah. Each piece is handcrafted to order, with the facility serving both walk-in and appointment-based clients during weekday business hours. Projects range from coffee tables and high-top tables with stools to other custom builds tailored to individual specifications. The business emphasizes a collaborative design process that translates client concepts into functional works of art. The Modern Table Company distinguishes itself through its curated selection of reclaimed woods, each carrying a distinct history, and its commitment to sustainable sourcing. The limited availability of materials like jarrah, brought to the U.S. in 1900, underscores the exclusivity of each commission.
