About Valley Woodworks LLC
Valley Woodworks LLC is a custom furniture maker based in Palmer, Massachusetts. Founded in 2022 by Jonathan Dias, a Springfield College graduate with a background in business administration and entrepreneurial studies, the company began from his desire to create high-quality, handcrafted pieces that avoid the disposable nature of mass-produced furniture. The shop produces custom tables and furniture using solid hardwood slabs selected for grain, moisture content, and character. No veneers, plywood cores, or shortcuts are used; each piece is finished with hand-rubbed hardwax oils that protect the wood while keeping its pores open and grain visible. Operations are carried out on a made-to-order basis, with no stated facility size or employee count beyond the founder. Valley Woodworks serves residential clients seeking heirloom-quality dining tables, desks, and other furniture pieces. The company does not list specific commercial or industry clients, focusing instead on individual commissions that start with a design consultation. Dias started the business to counter the click-to-buy culture and preserve the art of fine furniture making. The company emphasizes that its pieces are built to be passed down rather than replaced, a philosophy reflected in the choice of solid materials and traditional finishing methods.
