Virginia Steel & Fabrication

About Virginia Steel & Fabrication

Virginia Steel & Fabrication operates from Bastian, Virginia, in the heart of the Appalachian region. The company was founded in 1992 on principles of craftsmanship and customer-focused service, and describes itself as an Appalachian-built business with deep roots and long-standing relationships. The shop provides structural steel fabrication, conveyor system fabrication, custom metal fabrication (including railings, stairs, platforms, and ladders), welding, design and detailing, and project management. It also runs a retail steel service offering steel sales and custom cuts for contractors, businesses, and homeowners. The company references modern equipment and skilled craftsmen but does not publish facility size, headcount, or annual volume figures. Customers include general contractors, mining operations, industrial facilities, and regional partners across the Appalachian area. The firm emphasizes a single point of contact through project management to coordinate schedules, materials, communication, and delivery. Virginia Steel says its differentiation comes from decades of practical experience, a people-first approach, and a commitment to safety in the shop and on job sites. The mission is to deliver dependable steel fabrication solutions built on experience, craftsmanship, and long-standing relationships.
