About Willie Willette Works
Willie Willette Works was founded in 1996 by Willie Willette in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Operating from a studio on University Avenue, the company began with the intent of crafting beautiful, high-quality custom furniture. The firm specializes in custom furniture design and fabrication, producing one-of-a-kind pieces for residential and commercial clients. Services span concept development, woodworking, finishing, and installation, with a focus on locally sourced materials such as white oak and exotic woods. The shop also runs hands-on charcuterie board workshops for teams and private groups. Clients range from homeowners to corporate offices and public institutions. Notable projects include the 2016 Good Chair Project, which placed over 30 white-oak chairs in Minneapolis parks through a partnership with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, and the 2009 Clockwork Table, a reconfigurable conference table built for a corporate client. The company’s work has been documented in the short film “Working With The Grain.” Willette cites three influences on his philosophy: his studies at St. John’s University, six years at the Walker Art Center, and a family mantra from his grandfather’s farm: “Shut up and get to work.” The company emphasizes close client collaboration, local material sourcing, and craftsmanship as its defining differentiators.
