About Woodco Furniture
Woodco Furniture, a family-owned and operated business, was founded in 1977 by Bob Pierce and his son Bobby in Van Buren and Fort Smith, Arkansas. Pierce, who had honed his craft at a wood-turning company in Florida before relocating to Arkansas, launched the venture when Bobby was just eleven years old, embedding the next generation in the operation from the start. The company began as a supplier of turnings and parts for other manufacturers across the country. As domestic production moved overseas, Woodco shifted to a full-scale production facility, developing its own line of furniture while also stocking other American-made pieces. All lumber is slow-grown hardwood sourced from the Northern Appalachian Mountains, kiln-dried for consistent moisture content, and offered in red oak, maple, cherry, and quarter-sawn white oak. The Van Buren facility opened to the public in 1995, and Bobby Pierce assumed ownership in 1999. The company emphasizes complete control over quality by keeping production in-house, from lumber selection to finished goods, positioning its output as heirloom-quality American-made furniture backed by custom capabilities and personal service.
