AeroLEDs, LLC

About AeroLEDs, LLC

AeroLEDs, LLC is based in Boise, Idaho, and was founded in 2006 with a mission to redefine modern LED aerospace lighting. The company entered a market that had seen little change in 50 years and introduced the first LED-based airplane lights, raising the bar for performance and quality. The company designs and manufactures a range of LED lighting solutions for aircraft, including wingtip and tail lights, landing, taxi, and recognition lights, and beacons. It also produces specialized experimental lighting and STC‑approved LED kits for jets and turboprops. Manufacturing processes include aluminum heat‑sink fabrication with black powder coating and integrated lighting‑system assembly. Installations span experimental and Part 23 aircraft through to space and military programs, with products fielded on over 15 tactical military platforms. AeroLEDs serves the general aviation, business jet, turboprop, military, and space sectors. Its customer base includes experimental aircraft builders (notably the Vans RV community), operators of certified jets and turboprops, and military programs requiring both overt and covert lighting solutions. The business was started because the aerospace lighting market was stagnant and in drastic need of a new product with a fresh look and unequaled performance. By creating the first LED‑based airplane lights, AeroLEDs forced legacy manufacturers to respond and moved aircraft lighting from a forgotten necessity to a desired accessory.
