About Alabama Sawyer
Alabama Sawyer operates from Birmingham, Alabama, where it has spent a decade milling and crafting furniture from reclaimed urban timber. The company began with a focus on turning locally sourced logs into finished pieces, offering a "Tree Concierge" service that manages the process from tree removal to final product. The shop produces a range of furniture including dining tables, benches, storage units, desks, and conference tables, along with home accessories such as charcuterie boards, trays, ice buckets, and the Noaway© compost caddy. Production is described as hand-crafted, using species like urban white oak, reclaimed pine, and shou sugi ban-treated wood, often combined with hand-cast bronze or pewter accents. The facility also handles commercial and hospitality projects, providing architectural elements and trade pricing for design professionals. Customers include residential buyers, commercial clients in the hospitality sector, and trade partners such as architects and interior designers who specify custom conference tables, seating, and built-in elements. The company also sells University of Alabama branded merchandise and operates a trade account program for industry buyers. Alabama Sawyer emphasizes its use of urban wood salvaged from local sources, framing each piece as having a story tied to the region. The "Tree to Table" service and a commitment to domestic manufacturing are presented as core differentiators, alongside free shipping on accessory orders over $150.
