About American Solar Power
American Solar Power operates from two Utah offices in South Jordan and Moab, serving the entire state. The company is family-owned and led by a father-son team: Kevin, an electrical engineer and master electrician, and Andrew, a licensed electrician. They began designing and installing solar systems in Utah over a decade ago, building a business around residential and commercial photovoltaic projects. The firm functions as a licensed solar photovoltaic and electrical contractor. Its services span on-grid and off-grid solar design and installation, small-scale wind power systems, battery backup solutions, and site analysis with free estimates. System designs are completed by a licensed electrical engineer, and the team assists customers with utility and government incentive applications. Projects range from single-home rooftop arrays to complex commercial installations. American Solar Power works primarily with Utah homeowners and businesses seeking to reduce electricity costs or add emergency power. Residential clients in the Salt Lake Valley, Moab, and surrounding communities make up a core segment, while commercial customers pursue larger-scale solar and storage projects. The company also serves clients specifically interested in off-grid or battery-backed systems for resilience. The founders emphasize honest, low-pressure consultation—advising whether solar makes financial sense for each property—and claim pricing typically 20 percent below competitors. Free site analysis and engineer-led design are positioned as key differentiators, along with deep experience in battery backup installations that are uncommon among Utah contractors.
