About Backyard Adventures Iowa
Backyard Adventures Iowa opened in 2002 in Urbandale, Iowa, as a family recreation store serving customers across the state. The business was established with a focus on providing a local showroom where families could explore outdoor play equipment in person. The company operates a showroom that carries playsets and swing sets from Backyard Adventures, basketball hoops from Goalsetter, and pergolas and gazebos from Backyard Discovery, along with outdoor furniture and patio accessories. The product lineup includes multiple series such as the Outlook, Summit, Treehouse, and Peak playset lines, as well as Goalsetter Signature and Extreme hoop series. Its customer base consists primarily of Iowa homeowners and families looking for backyard recreation equipment. The store markets itself to the entire state, emphasizing a hands-on showroom experience where buyers can view and compare products before purchase. The company also directs outdoor furniture shoppers to its affiliated Okoboji Outdoor Living location, which shares the same staff and facility. Since its founding, the company has highlighted family-oriented customer service as its defining priority, a commitment it says has guided its approach from the start. Seasonal promotions, such as fall discounts on playsets and hoops with bundled installation pricing, are used to attract buyers, but the core differentiator remains the emphasis on personal service.
