About Built By Newport
Built by Newport has operated from Newport, Vermont since 1963. Originally known as NFP, the company rebranded to reflect its focus on handcrafted hardwood furniture. Over six decades, it has grown from a wood component supplier into a full-service manufacturer of dining chairs, accent tables, lounge seating, and lighting. The shop combines sophisticated CNC technology with hand craftsmanship from experienced builders. Its capabilities span CAD design with 3D imagery, CNC production, BIFMA testing, upholstery, steel and metal accent integration, finishing, and packaging. The facility produces both complete furniture pieces and wood components for other manufacturers, working across all hardwood species. The company serves established furniture brands and retailers, including Room & Board and Misewell. Its customer base consists of well-established firms in growing markets that require turnkey manufacturing services from concept through delivery. Wood component manufacturing remains a core service, harking back to the firm's founding years. Built by Newport emphasizes continuous improvement, blending modern technology with artisanal skill. The firm cites its ability to execute previously impossible designs through CNC innovation while maintaining hand-finishing quality. Turnkey services — from design validation to damage-free packaging — are positioned as its key differentiator.
