ClearLake Furniture

About ClearLake Furniture

ClearLake Furniture was founded in 1992 by master woodworker Brent Karner in Ludlow, Vermont. The company operates from a beautifully restored barn in Windsor County, where a 3,000-square-foot gallery showcases custom hardwood pieces alongside the active workshop. The shop produces made-to-order furniture including dining tables, seating, cabinetry, beds, and limited-edition collections, along with commercial furnishings and kitchen remodels. Each piece is built by a single craftsman using traditional joinery—interlocking joints, splined miters, and dovetails—and finished in-house. The team of nine craftsmen and staff also provides interior design services, virtual consultations, a gift registry, and a trade-in program that credits older pieces toward new work. Clients range from Vermont homeowners furnishing primary residences and wedding registries to commercial accounts such as Ludlow Medical Center. The design studio works directly with customers to select style, dimensions, wood species, and finish, even inviting them to choose the actual boards from the lumber stacks. Karner’s original commitment to detail and personal involvement remains the guiding principle: every item is signed and dated by its maker with the client’s family name, backed by the ClearLake Guarantee, and eligible for the Investment Program that allows future trade-ins.
