About Custom Wood Products - Handcrafted Cabinets
Custom Wood Products operates from St. Marys, Kansas, where it was founded in 1981 by Don Lake. Lake, a homebuilder by trade, applied his construction experience to a small-town cabinet shop that started with only a handful of employees. The company produces custom cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms, offices, bars, entertainment centers, dining rooms, and closet systems. Its offerings span wood and painted finishes, color matching, and design consultation, all managed through a project process that includes craftsmanship and storage solutions. The facility serves a national dealer network, though headcount and square footage are not publicly disclosed. The company’s dealer showrooms across the United States provide local access for residential clients, and its project questionnaire captures details such as room type, style preference, finish, and budget. Custom Wood Products emphasizes a limited lifetime warranty that covers cabinets for as long as the original owner owns them, citing the use of high-quality materials and pride in workmanship as the basis for that guarantee.
