About DeVo's WoodCraft
DeVo's WoodCraft operates from Eagle River, Alaska, where founder Kris DeVo produces custom furniture and finished wood goods. DeVo's woodworking roots trace to junior high, when a shop teacher inspired him to win first place at the California State Fair and launch his own woodshop at age 13. After moving to Alaska in 2009 and marrying in 2011, he continued the craft in his current location. The shop offers custom furniture fabrication, countertops, kitchen islands, and tables, along with a line of finished products that includes cutting boards, butcher blocks, bowls, kitchen and hunting knives, coasters, knife blocks, pen blanks, and stabilized wood blanks. In-house capabilities cover milling and lamination services by appointment, as well as delivery and installation for larger pieces. Concrete examples from the product list show a focus on kitchen and outdoor cutlery accessories, as well as maker supplies such as pen blanks and burl. DeVo cites his early passion for woodworking and the influence of his junior-high teacher as the reason he started the shop, describing the venture as a place where his passions for woodcraft, photography, and videography come together.
