About Eel River Brewing Company
Eel River Brewing Company is based in Fortuna, California, in the heart of Humboldt County. The brewery's organic journey began in 1998 when a customer's request for a 'naked beer' free of harmful ingredients led to the creation of its first 100% organic ale, Amber Ale. By 1999, Eel River had become the first fully certified organic brewery in the United States, establishing itself as a pioneer in organic craft brewing. The company produces a rotating lineup of organic ales, including India Pale Ale, California Blonde, Amber Ale, and Pilsner-style ale, along with hard seltzers. In addition to brewing, Eel River operates a pub and restaurant on-site, serving food such as smoked tri-tip, burgers, and wings, and sells branded apparel through its online shop. Its beers are distributed to retail stores across the region. Eel River serves craft beer consumers through its taproom and retail distribution, as well as restaurant patrons seeking a dog-friendly patio and live music. The brewery's products are available in stores throughout Northern California, and its pub attracts both locals and visitors camping in the Humboldt area. The brewery emphasizes its certified organic status, sustainable and eco-friendly practices, and a commitment to using pure ingredients without artificial additives. It positions itself as independent and locally sourced, brewing without compromise on flavor or environmental responsibility.
