About GFX Inc
GFX Corporation was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Miami, Florida. The company traces its roots to the family business Carfel, Inc., which Fanny Hanono joined in 1988 after attending George Washington University. Hanono later became president and oversaw the company's growth into a multi-million-dollar operation before its acquisition by SPX Corporation in 2001. GFX designs, manufactures, sources, and distributes a full range of specialty transmission parts, including automatic transmission kits, performance components, heavy-duty parts, and vintage Volkswagen items. The company occupies more than 100,000 square feet across multiple buildings in three countries, with manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution facilities in the Netherlands and China, plus a multi-million-dollar inventory hub near Miami International Airport and the Port of Miami. Over 100 employees worldwide handle engineering, product development, manufacturing, testing, quality assurance, and logistics. The company serves transmission distributors, wholesale partners, and rebuilders across the automatic transmission, performance, heavy-duty, and specialty aftermarket segments. Its specialized brands address distinct markets such as Allison and Ford transmission components, high-performance parts, and hard-to-find vintage VW pieces. Customers rely on GFX for broad application coverage, responsive support, and a global supply network that spans development through delivery. GFX states its vision is to be the industry leader in aftermarket transmission parts, driven by a commitment to driver safety and product reliability. The company emphasizes its vertically integrated model — combining engineering, manufacturing, global sourcing, quality validation, inventory management, and distribution under one organization — as a key differentiator, enabling same-day shipping on stocked items and consistent quality across its product lines.
