About Hazel Oak Farms
Hazel Oak Farms operates from Homestead, Iowa, in the countryside of the Amana Colonies. They began with a vision of building furniture and growing a homestead, focusing on salvaging American hardwood trees. The company produces custom furniture including farmhouse dining tables, wall clocks, living room pieces, and home office items, all handmade in the United States. Finishing options include stained, painted, and distressed surfaces, and some items incorporate steel bases with powder-coated or clear-coated finishes. Orders are shipped in crates with minor assembly required. Hazel Oak Farms sells directly to residential customers through its e-commerce site, serving homeowners seeking custom furniture and woodworkers purchasing raw slabs. The founders emphasize creating unique, lifetime-quality pieces that cannot be found in big-box stores, rooted in a practice of salvaging domestic hardwoods and turning them into functional art. Custom orders typically require 12 to 16 weeks for production.
