About Long Leaf Wood Shop
Long Leaf Wood Shop operates in Montgomery, Alabama, where it was founded in 2019. The business grew from a decades-long passion for woodworking; its founders had accumulated over 35 years of experience before opening the shop. Initially launched as a member-based woodworking space that also produced custom furniture and hosted classes, the company shifted focus within a few years to dedicate itself primarily to custom furniture production. The shop produces custom-built furniture, blending traditional joinery with contemporary design. A team of several craftsmen contributes over 240 years of combined experience to each project. Beyond furniture, the facility runs woodworking classes, date-night sessions, and corporate team-building events, using its workshop as a venue for hands-on experiences. Clients include interior designers who rely on the shop to execute precise, vision-driven pieces, and homeowners seeking one-of-a-kind furnishings. Corporate groups also book the space for structured team-building activities, making the shop a hybrid production and event venue. The company emphasizes that every piece tells a story, aiming to merge timeless craftsmanship with modern and traditional aesthetics. This narrative-driven approach, rooted in the founders' original dream of a creative community space, remains the stated reason for the business’s existence.
