About Millworkz
Millworkz operates a wood mill in Arnold, California, situated in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The company offers a wide selection of wood slabs and DIY materials, serving customers from a retail location on Highway 4. The mill maintains an in-house kiln for drying lumber, ensuring slabs are ready for finishing upon pickup. It provides both stock and custom-cut material, including live-edge slabs and limited-edition flooring in walnut, alder, and pine. New logs arrive regularly, and the facility processes timber from beetle-killed trees, natural falls, and trees removed by PG&E as power-line hazards. The showroom is open Thursday through Sunday, with Monday through Wednesday available by appointment for milling consultations. The business emphasizes sustainable practices by repurposing trees that would otherwise be burned or left to rot, highlighting the carbon-sequestration benefits of using salvaged wood. The team positions itself as an industry leader in utilizing beetle-killed and hazard timber.
