About Northern Furniture Manufacturing LLC
Northern Furniture Manufacturing LLC was established in 2021 in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, when Fresh Industries—a global home-furnishings sourcing company founded in 2009—acquired the former Northern Manufacturing Co. from the Norenberg family. The business operates as a family-owned venture dedicated to domestic upholstered furniture production, reviving an industry that had existed in the town since the 1950s. The company designs and builds modern upholstered furniture—including sofas, chairs, ottomans, and beds—for major retailers. Production is made-to-order and scaled for global distribution, with all manufacturing taking place at its Grantsburg facility. Northern Furniture emphasizes hiring and training local talent, though specific facility size, headcount, and annual volume are not disclosed. Its customers are lifestyle-focused brands and major retailers that sell through stores and online channels. Northern Furniture was started to bring furniture manufacturing back to northwest Wisconsin and to invest in the local community. The company cites its parent company’s 15-plus years of furniture and textile experience, a commitment to open communication and problem-solving, and a focus on quality, comfort, and design as what sets it apart.
