About Old Dominion Furniture Co.
Old Dominion Furniture Co. operates from Lynchburg, Virginia, where it has served the hospitality market for over four decades. The company is led by presidents John Morgan and Laura Morgan, supported by a dedicated team including sales, freight, accounting, and shipping specialists. While the exact founding year is not publicly stated, the business emphasizes a legacy built on combining the personal touch of a small enterprise with the capacity of a larger operation. The company manufactures a full range of contract furniture for commercial spaces, including table tops, chairs, booths, table bases, barstools, child seating, and custom pieces. Table tops are produced from regionally sourced lumber through a six-step finishing process that includes hand-wiped stain, a wash coat, oil-based filler, and three coats of conversion varnish with sanding between coats. Chairs and barstools are built on hardwood frames with premium finishes and high-density commercial-grade foam. Booths feature one-piece frame construction, web seating with high-density urethane foam, and heavy-duty textured plastic bases reinforced with corner protectors. All items are crafted and quality-checked at the firm's Virginia facility before being shipped in a single delivery. Old Dominion Furniture serves restaurants, country clubs, senior living communities, corporate offices, and educational institutions. The company collaborates directly with business owners, designers, and architects to develop furniture packages that align with specific design visions and budgets. The firm positions itself as both a manufacturer and a design partner, highlighting its in-house craftsmen and a service model that blends personal attention with large-scale reliability. Its quality statement underscores control over every production step, from raw material to finished product, as the foundation for durability in high-traffic environments.
