About Ruben Custom Sawmill and Woodworks, LLC
Ruben Custom Sawmill and Woodworks, LLC is based in White Bear Township, Minnesota. What began as a weekend passion project has grown into a full-time, family-run operation serving clients throughout the Twin Cities metro area. The business focuses on three core areas: custom furniture such as live-edge tables, bar tops, and mantles; premium walnut countertops built in a butcher-block style; and portable milling services that bring a Wood-Mizer sawmill directly to a client's property to process logs into kiln-dried slabs and native hardwood lumber. The shop also maintains an inventory of kiln-dried slabs available by appointment. Customers range from homeowners seeking one-of-a-kind dining tables or mantels to DIY woodworkers purchasing slabs for their own projects, as well as landowners who want logs milled on-site for future interior work. Testimonials on the company's site highlight residential clients in the Twin Cities area who have commissioned custom furniture, countertops, and on-site milling of cherry and burr oak logs. Ruben states that the company was started to give fallen trees a second life and to preserve the stories embedded in each slab, turning what would be waste into lasting functional art. The founder emphasizes care, craftsmanship, and character in every job, whether milling on a client's land or building a custom piece in the shop.
