About Tupelo Furniture Market
Tupelo Furniture Market operates from Tupelo, Mississippi, where it opened in September 1987 as a regional showcase for furniture manufacturers. The market is run under the auspices of the Tupelo Furniture Marketing Association, a non-profit corporation founded in 1988 and governed by a 26-member board. The association is headquartered at the Community Development Foundation in downtown Tupelo, and the market's leadership includes Chairman and CEO V.M. Cleveland and COO Adam Cleveland. The venue hosts a bi-annual furniture market each February and August, running Tuesday through Thursday in a single-story facility at 1879 N. Coley Road. Exhibitors present case goods, upholstery, bedding, accessories, and related services, making it one of the largest order-writing markets in the country. The market emphasizes convenience with single-story shopping and a relaxed atmosphere. Northeast Mississippi is described as the upholstery capital of the world, with a large percentage of the local population employed in furniture manufacturing. Buyers attend to source low- and medium-priced home furnishings from manufacturers that often exhibit exclusively in Tupelo. The company promotes its differentiation through unmatched service and hospitality, billing itself as the friendliest market with a relaxed atmosphere.
