About Union Furniture Manufacturing Company
Union Furniture Manufacturing Company has operated from Fort Smith, Arkansas since 1959, when Ruley Sutton founded the business. More than six decades later, the company remains family-run: Sutton and his two sons, Dewayne and Jeff Sutton, oversee daily operations. The shop produces upholstered living-room furniture—sofas, love seats, chairs, ottomans, and sectionals—in rustic, contemporary, traditional, and transitional styles. A crew of 11 to 15 skilled employees builds frames, installs springs, and applies a rotating selection of fabrics and textiles. Union Furniture sells exclusively to furniture dealers, serving both large regional chains and small family-owned retailers. It does not offer direct-to-consumer sales. The founding goal was to deliver high-quality upholstered furniture at a fair price while keeping fabric selections current.
