About Vicki's Amish Traditions
Vicki's Amish Traditions operates from Millbrook, Alabama, where it was established in October 2018 by Vicki, who developed a passion for Amish craftsmanship while living and working in Indiana's Amish country. After relocating to Alabama and finding no dedicated Amish furniture retailers, she launched the state's first exclusively Amish furniture store inside Prattville Pickers Maker's Marketplace. The business moved to its own location on Alabama River Parkway in July 2020 and expanded to a larger facility at 2865 Highway 14 in January 2023. Customers can customize pieces by selecting wood species, finishes, hardware, and dimensions. The product line also includes polywood outdoor furniture made from recycled plastics, marketed as eco-friendly and guaranteed for decades. A design center in Vestavia Hills provides private design appointments for a fee that applies toward purchases. The retailer serves residential customers seeking heirloom-quality solid-wood furniture and customizable home furnishings. Its showroom is open Wednesday through Saturday, with additional private appointments available Monday through Wednesday. Financing options are offered to facilitate larger purchases. Vicki founded the business to fill a gap in the Alabama market for a specialist Amish furniture retailer, emphasizing old-world construction methods such as mortise-and-tenon joinery and the ability to tailor each piece to the buyer's specifications.
