About Wires R Us Inc.
Wires R Us Inc. is an electrical contractor based in Piedmont, South Dakota, serving the Black Hills region since 1999. The company was founded by Donahue Williamson, who started the business with a van and his nephew to create stability for his growing family. Now a second-generation family-owned operation, it continues to operate on the core values of efficiency, cleanliness, reliability, and craftsmanship established at its inception. The firm specializes in residential new construction and multi-family electrical wiring, handling projects from rough-in to finish with a focus on clean, organized job sites. Its service portfolio includes electrical service upgrades (100A, 200A, 400A), panel swaps, lighting upgrades, EV charger installations, standby generator installation and maintenance, and hot tub wiring. A distinctive offering is 3D-mapped wiring, where every wire is scanned and logged for future reference. The company also takes on select commercial projects. Primary customers are tract home builders, developers, and general contractors who require consistent scheduling and code-compliant work across the Black Hills, including Rapid City, Spearfish, Sturgis, Belle Fourche, Hot Springs, and surrounding communities. The company also serves homeowners for specific installations such as EV chargers, service upgrades, and generator systems, and works with vacation rental property owners in areas like Deadwood and Lead to install automatic standby generators. Williamson launched the business after identifying a need for a reliable electrical contractor that showed up on time, communicated well, and took pride in doing things the right way. The company emphasizes making projects run smoother for general contractors through organized systems that reduce mistakes, speed timelines, and eliminate coordination headaches. Its core values—leaving job sites clean, showing up on schedule, and delivering quality efficient work—are cited as the reason builders maintain long-term relationships.
