About Ziroli Woodworking | Hawai'i Handmade Wood Furniture and Cabinetry
Ziroli Woodworking operates from Pāpa'aloa on the Big Island of Hawaii. The business traces its roots to 1975 when Peter Ziroli opened his first shop in Honolulu. It remains a family-owned and operated woodshop, with Peter learning the craft from his father, Alfred. The shop produces custom furniture, cabinetry, and architectural installations using locally sourced Hawaiian hardwoods such as acacia koa, mango, and ʻōhiʻa. Work combines heirloom hand tools passed down through generations with modern saws and machinery. The company also runs woodworking workshops for the local community. Clients range from residential homeowners to high-profile figures in entertainment and design, including film director Francis Ford Coppola, musician David Crosby, and designer Jack Adams. The shop serves customers across the Big Island with in-person design consultation and installation services. Peter Ziroli describes the business as his lifework, emphasizing a cooperative process, sustainable material sourcing, and mentoring the next generation of woodworkers. The goal is to build lasting relationships and pieces that endure.
