About AES Solar
AES Solar is based in Carterville, Illinois, and has served the Southern Illinois region since its founding in 1999. The company began when founder Aur Beck attended a demonstration on solar and sustainable energy and decided to bring renewable energy solutions to the area. Originally established as Advanced Energy Solutions Group, the business remains locally owned and operated, with Beck serving as Chief Technician alongside Chief Executive Officer Shariff Shakir and Chief Operating Officer Dustin Erwin. The firm provides turnkey solar photovoltaic systems for residential, commercial, and non‑profit customers, including roof‑mounted and ground‑mounted arrays, battery storage integration, and generator hook‑ups. All design and installation work is performed in‑house by an IBEW Local 702 union crew, and the company reports more than 5.3 megawatts of installed capacity across over 200 completed projects. Clients range from individual homeowners seeking lower utility bills to businesses aiming to convert unused roof or land into revenue‑generating assets. AES Solar has also worked with schools, churches, and community organizations; a notable early milestone was winning Missouri school solar bids in 2005 that brought PV systems to seventeen K‑12 schools. The company additionally assists customers with incentive applications and post‑installation support. AES Solar emphasizes an education‑first approach, promising no‑pressure consultations and custom designs rather than generic packages. The company cites its local roots, union‑trained installers, and a dedicated post‑installation customer success representative as key differentiators that have sustained its reputation for 25 years.
