About Castellano Custom Furniture
Castellano Custom Furniture operates from a workshop and showroom on North Columbia Boulevard in Portland, Oregon. The company was founded more than 40 years ago as a family venture and remains three generations strong, though the exact founding year and founders' names are not publicly disclosed. The firm manufactures custom upholstered furniture—sofas, sectionals, loveseats, chairs, and ottomans—entirely in its Portland facility. It offers a full design-to-build service: consultation, collaborative design, and handcrafted production using locally sourced alder frames, domestically produced foam, recycled steel springs, and eco-friendly textiles. The operation also maintains a curated pre-made collection. No facility size, headcount, or annual volume figures are published. The company sells directly to homeowners and also works with design professionals on custom projects. No specific commercial or institutional clients are named. Castellano emphasizes sustainability and durability as differentiators: waste-free manufacturing that recycles sawdust into heating fuel and foam scraps into carpet padding, lifetime warranties on frames and springs, and a commitment to biodegradable or recyclable materials. The business was started on the belief that every piece should be as unique as the person designing it.
